Atom Uniacke is a Canadian-American business executive, entrepreneur, and investor. He is the co-founder of the not-for-profit social media platform Backchannel, as well as the CEO of Quest bridge, a college access organization.

Early Life:
Atom Uniacke was born in 1753 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. His father, Richard Uniacke Sr., was a lawyer and politician, and his mother, Frances Brooke, was the daughter of a British army officer. Atom was the eldest of six children.
From an early age, Atom showed tremendous talent for mathematics and science. At the age of thirteen, he entered King’s College in Windsor, Nova Scotia (now called King’s-Edgehill School), one of the first schools in North America to offer a college-level education. He graduated from King’s College at the age of eighteen with honors in mathematics and science.
After graduating from college, Atom Uniacke traveled to England where he studied law at the Middle Temple. He was called to the bar in 1774, but he never practiced law. Instead, he returned to Halifax where he became a merchant and began investing in real estate.
In 1779, Atom Uniacke married Elizabeth Cochran, the daughter of a wealthy merchant. The couple had four children together.
Business Career:
Atom Uniacke is a business executive with over 25 years of experience in the technology industry. He has held leadership positions at some of the world’s largest companies, including IBM, Apple, and Symantec.
Most recently, Atom was the Chief Revenue Officer at ClarityRay, a venture-backed cybersecurity startup. In this role, he was responsible for all sales and marketing operations worldwide. Prior to that, he was the General Manager of IBM Security’s Asia Pacific region, where he led a team of 1,200 people and generated over $1 billion in revenue.
Investments:
Atom Uniacke has made a number of investments over the years, both in his own businesses and in others. For example, he’s invested in a number of restaurants, including the popular Soho House chain. He’s also got into real estate, and has bought and sold property in London, Miami, Los Angeles, and other cities.

Atom is married to Nancy McCain and they have four children. Nancy is the daughter of James T. McCain, Jr., a former United States ambassador to Zimbabwe.
